Home  ›  Care Solutions  ›  Frequently Asked Questions
    1. What services do you provide?

Friendly Caregivers provides services to meet your needs in the area of Activities of Daily Living. We offer a full scope of services including: personal care, light housekeeping, meal prep, med reminders, companionship, errands and more.

    2. How do I start services?

When you call our office requesting services, one of our staff RN’s will visit your home to assess the client. This is required by the state of NC and makes it possible for the nurse to provide an appropriate plan of care foryou, or your loved one

    3. How quickly can services be provided?

We will strive to begin within 48 hours of the assessment and sometimes sooner

    4. How do you select your caregivers?

Our caregivers are carefully interviewed, screened, backgrounds checked and drug tested prior to being sent to a home. Friendly Caregivers understands the importance of hiring the most competent and reliable staff.

    5. What happens if my caregiver is sick, or goes on vacation?

If your caregiver is sick, or goes on vacation we will attempt to send someone with the same skills and personality to fill in while your regular caregiver is away.We always try to match personalities.

    6. How do I pay for services?

You will receive a weekly invoice and payment is due upon receipt. We pay our caregivers weekly and we expect our clients to pay us weekly, as well. All billing inquiries should be made during office hours; 9am-5pm. Monday-Friday.

    7. Are homecare services covered by insurance or Medicare?

Homecare service is paid by many long term care insurance companies. However, while waiting for the insurance company to pay, it is the responsibility of the client to pay Friendly Caregivers until payment starts from the insurance company. No, our services are not paid by Medicare.

    8. Where do you provide services?

Friendly Caregivers will provide services where ever your loved resides; in the home, hospital or a facility.

    9. Can your agency help with medications?

Caregivers, by law, cannot dispense medications. However, we will give med reminders and in certain situations, for a fee, we can send one of our nurses out to fill a med box.

    10. How long have you been in business, are you licensed and can you provide references?

Friendly Caregivers received our license June 1, 2009, from the DHHS of NC. Yes, we are happy to provide references. We have many satisfied clients and family members.

    11. How do you protect my personal information?

All client information is HIPAA protected.

    12. Are your caregivers insured and bonded?

Yes, our caregivers are insured and bonded. We pay employer. taxes, general liability, and workers compensation insurance.

    13. Will I have a say in who comes to my home?

We work very hard to match caregivers and clients. If you feel we have not sent someone who is a good match for you, or your loved one, please call our office. It is our desire that all clients and caregivers be compatible.

    14. Will my family member always receive care from the same caregiver?

There is a very good chance that the answer to this question is no. People get sick, children get sick, etc. For many reasons, we feel it is important to introduce at least one other caregiver in the event that an emergency arises. We prefer that in those situations, our client sees a familiar face. When staffing a 24/7 case, it takes 5-6 caregivers to make sure that things run smoothly.

    15. Are your services limited to seniors?

No, we provide services to New Mom and Working Parents and those recuperating from an illness or injuries, and those requiring continuing care. We also provide transportation and care for out-patient procedures.

    16. What if I have an emergency after hours?

We have staff “on call” from 5pm-9am weekdays and on weekends. This is reserved for emergencies only. Schedule changes and billing issues must be done during office hours.

    17. What if I need to cancel services for one day, or longer?

We require a 24 hour notice, or you will be charged for our 3 hour minimum. Caregivers will be compensated for lost time.

    18. What are your office hours?

Our office hours are 9am until 5pm Monday through Friday. We are closed on weekends and some major holidays.
